Started in the year 1998, Khaadi is a name that represents Pakistan at both an international and a local front. The brand now announces the opening of its second outlet in the historic city of Peshawar which today is not only the capital of the province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but also Pakistan’s 9th largest city.
Located in a valley very close to the Khyber Pass, the city’s history dates back to 538 B.C.E hence making it the oldest city in Pakistan too. The new store shall feature a wide range of clothing items for women and children. The opening is scheduled to be on 22nd June 2017 at 9-Kashmir lodge, Near Abdara Chowk, Main University Road, Peshawar.
Realizing the history of this city and promising to keep its traditions alive, this new store is given a rustic warehouse look. Spread across an area of 18,000 square feet, the architecture of the new store presents high ceilings, burnt wood and natural light to emphasize on the historical aspect of the city. On the other hand, the urban warehouse look gives a modern touch to the store reflecting Khaadi’s philosophy which revolves around uniting art, community, culture, and traditions.
Khaadi has always focused on its customers and improving their experience. The store will operate throughout the week and continue to provide its customers with the best quality clothing in the best retail landscape of Pakistan.
Khaadi first opened its doors in 1998 in Karachi, Pakistan offering customers kurtas and loose fabric made from hand-woven fabric. Shamoon Sultan, the chairman and founder, had the intent of reviving the ancient craft of the handloom and popularizing the traditional medium in a contemporary manner.
Khaadi defines its lines as Concepts and initially had Prêt (Ready-to-Wear), Unstitched (Fabric) and Man (Eastern Wear). Over the years, Khaadi has introduced a number of new Concepts including Khaas (featuring exclusive and limited-edition pieces), Kids (for 2-12 year olds), Accessories (jewellery, stoles and handbags) and Home (featuring furniture, bedding and bath items).
